Ezekiel runs down the corridor into darkness, followed by Carys under the cloak of Obfuscate. Bain and Helmer wait until they can no longer hear Ezekiel before deciding to follow him.
Ezekiel finds himself in a larger room, with a very faint light coming from a far corner. Making his way slowly across the room, he finds himself next to a mostly covered light and near to a couple of tables. He can hear a faint heartbeat close by, and pulls the cover off the light. In the now lit room, he can see a table in front of him with a sheet thrown over something.
He pulls the sheet off to reveal a man strapped to the table. The man is missing an arm and both his legs, and appears to be asleep.
{Ezekiel drinks}
{Scientist arrives and is threatened by Bain}
{He drops some notes}
{Aeneas dies, and a firestorm is triggered}
{They all dream}
{They leave, and return to the chapter house to report. Except Ezekiel who returns home}
{The Philosopher and Greta are arguing, and then Bain and Helmer give their report}
{Bain also asks the Philosopher about dreams}
Night 5: {The four gather to try to find where the court is tonight, and start with Newport Castle – but it is empty}
{They travel to Ryde and find an informal social gathering in the wildlife gardens. The Herald, the Harpy, the Carthians, and Aude Rinne are present}
{Bain talks to the Hapry, while Ezekiel just manages to bribe the Herald into seeing the records on domain members – especially anything on their bloodlines}
{Helmer and Ezekiel have a spat, and Helmer frenzies. The Ventrue Blythe Shelton Simmons shows an impressive grasp of both Majesty and Dominate, snapping Helmer back into lucidity and frostily informing him that one does not disturb the sanctity of Elysium lightly}
{Ezekiel then talks to the Carthians – or to the chatty one at least while Carys despairs of them and leaves to find an Internet cafe}
{Bain and Helmer watch some motorcycle riders wander past with cricket bats, and Ezekiel follows them as they do a loop around and back to where Bain and Helmer are}
{The thugs then charge Helmer, acting as a convenient distraction for Tye Masterson to slice open Helmer’s hamstrings, crippling him temporarily}
{Tye then tries to attack Helmer with a length of chain, while the thugs beat on Ezekiel – who has charged into the combat yelling “He’s mine!”}
{Bain tries to illicit help from the Court, but they all sensibly leave by a back entrance – save for the chatty Carthian who wades into the fight between Tye and Helmer}
{The thugs beat Ezekiel into torpor and then, believing he is unconscious, head towards Helmer to assist their boss}
{Meanwhile, Helmer has healed his hamstrings and is able to walk properly again – and is therefore running away to full speed, followed by Tye}
{Melor Filat Petrov swings a blow at Tye and misses, but the distraction allows Helmer to run to safety}
{Melor and Tye trade a couple more blows before the thugs arrive, and act as another distraction to allow Tye to escape. The thugs then follow suit, and all get away}
